Description of the project :
Language Services is implementing a translation memory (TM) software program as part of its drive for increased efficiency. These programs are quickly becoming standard across the translation industry. The LS translation memory contains previously translated documents in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. Language Services is seeking graduate-level students in translation studies, specializing in one or more of these languages, to assist us with the preparation of files for inclusion in the translation memory and with developing best practices for incorporating TM into our work. Depending on the applicants' translation skill levels, the interns may also draft translations into their respective languages. The internship will provide graduate students with an exceptional opportunity to observe and take part in a complex language services operation at a leading international organization, while developing their technical skills in software applications and translation.
